Located in the north east of Hampshire, Farnborough is a town with about 58,000 inhabitants. Twinned with Meudon in France, Oberursel in Germany and Sulechow in Poland, it has had a long association with aviation, the biennial air show being a particular highlight.
With history going further back than the Saxon times, Farnborough is home to numerous churches, such as St Michael's Abbey, which houses the remains of Napoleon III in its crypt. These days it's a commuter town due to its good transport links with London and Southampton in particular.
Some major companies have offices in the town, and actually it has grown into a business centre. BAE Systems in particular can be found at the Farnborough Aerospace Centre business park. Qinetiq also has a presence in the town.
Indeed the Farnborough Airshow is what attracts most people to the area, and is a hugely popular event. Both civilian and military aircraft are demonstrated, and it is a trade fair as well as being a family attraction. From Spitfires to the Red Arrows and modern models like the Airbus A380, there's never a dull moment.
Farnborough is actually a great place for drivers because there's so much country to explore around it, and also in Hampshire as a county. Of course getting out of the built up areas is a priority, but once you're away from them it's like a whole other world. With places like the New Forest not that far away, you really can have a lot of fun. There are also excellent motorway links, so going further afield isn't an issue either.
Those people in the market for second hand cars for sale in Farnborough can find some phenomenal bargains here at Motors.co.uk. There are thousands of used autos listed at incredibly low prices, and best of all quality is superb. This essentially means you'll be paying hardly anything for a car that's not much different to one out the showroom, and that's excellent by any stretch of the imagination.
